Coaching Staff - we're currently working on the coaching staff for the 2010 camps - look out for exciting news on who will be working with these camps.
For the 2009 camps we were blessed to have coaching input or Q&A sessions from Tera Moody, Fee Docherty, Melody Fairchild, & Bill Ruth.
The camps will be led by Terry Chiplin, fitness and life coach, and owner of Active at Altitude. Terry has a wealth of experience working with athletes of all abilities, from Olympic marathoner to a runner completing their first 5K! Terry is also a coach for BOLDRUNNING based in Boulder. See more about Terry here.
May & September camps - I am delighted to advise that for both the May & September camps, Terry will be joined by two inspirational and hugely talented women runners, Melody Fairchild and Nancy Hobbs.
Melody is arguably the best female high school athlete the USA has ever produced, being the first high school female to break 10 minutes fpr 2 miles., and a 2 time Foot Locker champion. Many records that she set as ahigh schooler still stand. She still runs competitively, and coaches a highly successful group of high school girls in Boulder, CO.
Nancy is the CE of the American Trail Running Association, the manager of the USMRT, and also co-author (with Adam Chase), of the Ultimate Guide to Trail Running. Nancy lives and breathes trail running and is a motivator of dynamic qualities.
July camp - I am delighted to advise that for the July camp, Terry will be joined by Boulder based Angelina Ramos. Angelina has a wealth of experience and enthusiasm as a coach across a broad spectrum, from Olympic level athletes to those wanting to stay in shape. Her coaching motto is, “it’s never too late to become what you might have been” and loves inspiring and motivating athletes to meet their individual goals. See a bio for Angelina here.
Transport - nearest airport is DIA (Denver International) - it is an easy 1.5 hour drive away from Active at Altitude. Depending on arrival times, I may be able to arrange to collect you from the airport (there will be a $35 per person one way charge). There is also a shuttle service from DIA to Estes Park that can drop you at Active at Altitude. The cost for this is around $45 each way. The camp will transport you to runs, sessions, etc. There will be R&R time when I can take you to local shops, etc.
To book - use the "register for an event" link on the top right of this page. I will then contact you regarding payment details. I look forward to hearing from you and to enjoying your company for these exciting and inspiring camps! See our cancellation policy here.
Testimonials“I had a blast! It was a very indulgent week for me to do nothing but run, sleep, and eat (oh, yeah, and shop!)” ""Maybe you've doubted you're a runner. Maybe you're worried you can't keep up with a pack. Or, just maybe, you've never allowed yourself the time to truly indulge in running. I struggled with all three of those things before attending a women's running camp at Active at Altitude. I left renewed; with a stronger sense of myself, an amazing group of friends, and a new passion to run strong." |
