Calming the mind - how runners can benefit from meditation
- with Arturo Barrios, Marty Kibiloski and Mike Sandrock
A percentage of proceeds will go to One World Running
Active at Altitude is delighted to announce a series of retreats to learn about Running with a Joyful Mind. Each retreat is a combination of running, meditation and yoga at our magnificent lodge in beautiful Estes Park.
Many runners have found that meditation has brought a new dimension to their running. Many of us have "monkey minds," where thoughts, ideas, musings, and reflections constantly run through our head. Learning the skills of meditation could not only calm your monkey mind, it could also lead to significant improvements in your running, and your life.
These retreats offer runners an opportunity to gather to run, practice yoga and meditate, which, as newcomers learn, is not a disassociation from your mind and body, but rather a way to connect to your inner self. See more about how marathoners can benefit from calming the mind by meditation here - article from Running Times May 2009. Places are limited to 12 for each retreat, so book early to secure your place!
The retreats, as well as a learning and inspiring opportunity, will also be fundraising for One World Running, the Boulder based international program that prmotoes an awareness of health, fitness and nutrition by providing running shoes to those in need in the USA and around the world. See more at One World Running here.
