Terry Chiplin - Active at Altitude

Melody Fairchild - Active at Altitude

Beginners Running Camps - March 18-20 2011

& April 15-17 2011

As featured in Daily Camera March 8th, 2011, and BOLDRUNNING Spring program for BOLDERBOULDER 2011!

"my attitude and outlook is sky high right now...I am confident the 5K in early May is in reach now...just wanted to say thanks to you and Melody for connecting me with my inner runner..you change people's lives." David, Colorado Springs on March 2011 camp.

Everyone has run at some stage in their lives - maybe it was a long time ago, or maybe it wasn't that long ago; inactivity and health concerns, either your own or someone close to you, have reminded you that running is something that everyone can enjoy, and that it has some very positive health benefits waiting in store for you.

These camps are for you if you want to return to running, or maybe start running for the first time in your life. Here you will learn all the tools necessary to start back to running, from how to include running in a busy schedule, to creating a personalized training plan and advice on gear. This is the perfect start to your BOLDRUNNING program for the 2011 BOLDERBOULDER, or the Estes Park Marathon 5K or 10K, or any other race you plan or dream of running in 2011. These camps will enable you to focus on starting any running program with confidence, and without feeling intimidated by faster runners around you. Each walk / run session will be at an easy pace, fine for anyone that has not run before. The sessions will always contain more walking than running. You will also be working with one of the coaches who is part of the BOLDRUNNING coaching staff for their 2011 Spring Program.

The camps will be led by two exceptional coaches, Terry Chiplin and Melody Fairchild. Terry is the Brit owner of Active at Altitude, endurance and running coach, and coach for BOLDRUNNING, the training club of the BOLDERBOULDER. He has been an endurance athlete for the last 28 years, and has inspired and coached many hundreds of runners to achieve or surpass their goals.
Melody is arguably the best female high school runner the USA has ever produced. After setting records yet to be surpassed during her teen years, then adding successful Collegiate and Professional running careers to that, she is now loving the journey of giving back, sharing from the wells of knowledge she drank from along her own journey of Becoming. As director of the Melody Fairchild Running Camp for H. S. Girls, she is fulfilling a dream of creating the next generation of women runners healthy in Body, Mind and Spirit. Her Boulder Landsharks Running Club for Elementary kids is aimed at laying the foundation for lifelong healthy habits. As a Somatic Awareness Educator, Melody teaches workshops to individuals and groups which facilitate a return to pain free, efficient and joyful running.

Both Terry and Melody have extensive experience of working with successful beginning running programs for adults.

Both camps start at 4.00 pm on Friday, and finish at 1.00 pm on Sunday. The camps will include the following:
